Birmingham, Alabama (December 15, 2021) — Neighborhood Housing Services of Birmingham, Inc. (NHS Birmingham) is pleased to announce we have received grants from two Homewood, AL stores--$1,000 from Walmart Store 1481 on Lakeshore Drive and $500 from Walmart Store 4504 on Palisades Blvd. Both grants will support our Healthy Housing Initiative program which provides weatherization upgrades and home improvements for local low-income residents.
“We would like to thank these local Walmart stores and their managers for selecting our application for funding. Every donation for our Healthy Housing Initiative is especially important at this time of year, helping to keep families safe and warm during this holiday season by making these minor, but so important, weatherization and home repairs for families who can’t afford to do so,” shared Kelleigh Gamble, NHS Birmingham’s Executive Director. Tiffany Carr is the manager of the Lakeshore Drive location and Antoinette Williams manages Palisades. When asked about the funding, Williams shared, “We are just so happy to be able to help! Thank you for all you do for our community!”
